Our Coaches have played the game, lived the game and taught the game. They are dedicated to showing this team how to be winners not only on the field, but off the field too. Our coaches have coached the WV Sting team to many Championships and Runner-Up positions in USA, USSSA, Top Gun, NSA, Premier Athletics, Future Stars of Sports and other tournament organizations.


KRISLYN HARPER
MANAGER/HEAD COACH
Krislyn has been coaching for over 9 years now.
She started playing softball for Elk District Little League when she was 8 years old. In the 1994 season she played on the team that was the WV District 3 Senior League Champions. In 1997 when Krislyn was 17 years old her and her Big League All-Star team was 1 win away in a Regional game in Waco, Texas from going to the Big League World Series in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Krislyn played softball for Herbert Hoover High School (Clendenin, WV) from 1994 to 1997 where she recieved a scholarship to play softball for WV Tech (Montgomery, WV) from 1998 to 2001. Krislyn started coaching when her oldest daughter started playing t-ball for the Elk District Little League. She coached her all through Little League spring and fall ball seasons and her oldest daughter just finished up playing in her third year for the Elkview Middle School softball team. While coaching for the Elk District Little League, Krislyn has 1 District 3 Championship as an Assistant Coach in 2018 and 1 District 3 Championships and 1 State Championship (9-11) as Head Coach in 2021. Krislyn is currently coaching her youngest daughters team now through Elk District Little League. Krislyn started coaching the WV Sting as an assistant coach in the spring of 2019 when her oldest daughter joined the Sting team. In the fall of 2019 Krislyn took over as Head Coach of our WV Sting team.



DANNY SWEENEY
ASSISTANT COACH
Danny started playing baseball for the Elk District Little League when he was 8 years old. He went on to play baseball 4 years for Herbert Hoover High School (Clendenin, WV) from 1994 to 1997. Danny also played Rugby for 4 years at Marshall University. Danny started coaching at Winfield Little League where he has coached on the teams that his 2 daughters have played on. He has also coached on 3 Winfield Little League All-Star teams. He has worked with various hitting, fielding, and pitching coaches. Danny started coaching for the WV Sting in the fall of 2019 and is currently an assistant coach for the WV Sting 11u team. Danny says that he really enjoys coaching softball and watching the players improve. He says when a young athlete sees hard work and practice pay off, that's a life lesson they take throughout life. He considers himself a positive and encouraging coach and he tries to teach the players to have a good attitude and always give maximum effort.




KACI LANDERS-JONES
ASSISTANT COACH
Kaci has been coaching now for over 20 years now. She played centerfield for WV State University from 1995-1999 and still loves to play softball to this day. Now she gets to play through coaching! Kaci started coaching baseball for Capital Midwestern Little League, where her older daughter, Kiersten Landers, played baseball. Kiersten played baseball up to high school then she switched to softball. Kiersten went on to play softball for Florida State University and now plays softball for Mississippi State University, where she is currently in her Senior year. Kaci has also coached at Hurricane Little League where her younger daughter has played for about 5 years now and is currently playing softball in her second year at Hurricane Middle School. Kaci has been an assistant coach for our WV Sting team now for 3 years and she loves the organization and all of the kids she gets to work with. Kaci's family has a huge history with baseball and softball. Her dad had tryouts with Mickey Mantle, her brother was a big record breaker at WVU, both Kaci and her sister played college ball and both of Kaci's nephews played college ball. Kaci says it's what all of her family loves to do!
